Katy Potts

Katy began her professional career in Medical Technology where she spent hours working in clinical labs. The work was fascinating, but Katy realized she wanted to actively help with the prevention of illness and injury, so she hung up her lab coat and joined a fitness center. Katy became a student of fitness and set out to learn by doing. She joined Joy of Movement and dedicated herself to taking a myriad of classes including jazz, modern dance, yoga, tai chi, and fitness for ten years.

In 1983 Katy became certified in Group Fitness and the student became the teacher at Joy of Movement. She added Personal Training to her resume in 1992 which evolved into a Medical Exercise Specialist certification. For 25 years Katy taught classes and trained clients at Fitness Etcetera for Women and worked at Ten X Fitness for three years.

In 2010 she began Pilates training and currently teaches Reformer, mat, chairs, and Barrels at Boston Pilates Studio. Additionally, Katie has studied various methods of yoga including Iyengar, Phoenix Rising, Tri Yoga, and Kripalu. Katie joins the Vanderbilt Club after spending the past ten years at Atlantis Fitness as a personal trainer and instructor.
